I have been involved, off and on, in an effort to engage the diocese here in San Diego in dialogue regarding both the Church's actual teaching on this matter and the actual circumstances vis-a-vis the capability of modern penal systems to redress the disorder caused by violent crime without recourse to the death penalty.

Given the fact that you are a well-informed othodox Catholic and that you have pertinent legal expertisse regarding this matter, any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any way I can contact you via private e-mail?
